Pediatrics Obesity

Due to the strain it places on the child and adult health care systems, child or child obesity is a developing global issue that has to be addressed (1). It is reasonable to point to smoking, eating a diet heavy in fat and sugar, as well as not exercising, as the primary causes of obesity in both children and adults. All of the body's organs are impacted by childhood obesity, and the prevalence of young children with diabetes is rising. Childhood obesity is associated with a higher risk of developing a number of conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, some types of cancer, social difficulties, and depression in teens. (2). Obese people are those with a BMI of 85% to 95%, and those with a BMI of 95% are considered obese. Growth over time can be tracked using growth charts. To show the distribution of body measures, these charts are divided into sections by percentile curves. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offer growth charts that can be used to monitor obesity.
